The aim of this project is to conduct a mapping of sustainable business models within Swedish agriculture and to, in a first step, contribute to concept development regarding how sustainable business models can be developed, thus creating greater competitiveness in the industry. The mapping will be conducted in different parts in Sweden and include both individual businesses and business in networks. International comparisons will also be made. In order to develop and strengthen a sustainable competitive Swedish agriculture, it is important to develop new knowledge about how sustainable (economically, ecologically and socially) business models are created, developed and maintained. This is important not least because of the societal challenges identified in the new EU Framework HORIZON 2020, which are to the green industries, such as food security, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, green transport and climate change measures.
