In this second subproject we focus the analyses of the material collected during the first subproject project "Improving teaching methods in riding education: the interplay between rider, riding instructor and horse", funded by the The Swedish-Norwegian Foundation for Equine Research,on the communication between rider and instructor. This communication is obviously essential to the development of good riding, succesful results and the well-being of both riders and horses.
In this second subproject we will analyse how instructor and rider in dialogue enacts and assess the activities that structure the riding lessons as learning experiences. The study combines learning theory with interaction theory. Due to its technical qualities, the empirical material (15 videocaptured private lessons in dressage), offers opportunities for innovative research of rider-instructor communication.
