En starkare värdekedja för vegetabiliskt protein för humankonsumtion i Östergötland

An increased production and consumption of legumes can contribute so several societal benefits. Among the identified advantages are reduced emissions of climate gases, increased biodiversity and reduced eutrophication, but also new business opportunities in the food chain and positive effects on people´s health and economy. The aim of this project is to create a basis for a stronger supply chain for plant based protein for human consumption in Östergötland. Currently, there are several gaps in the supply chain that could be remedied by a closer cooperation between stakeholders. Within this project the supply chain will be mapped through interviews and compilation of statistics. The next step will be to invite stakeholders to a joint analysis of the supply chain and the gaps within. By the end of the project, action plans for how the gaps can be remedied and the supply chain be strengthened will be formulated.

Ökad odling och konsumtion av baljväxter kan bidra till flera samhällsnyttor. Identifierade vinster kopplas till minskad klimatpåverkan, gynnande av biologisk mångfald och minskad övergödning, men även till nya affärsmöjligheter i livsmedelskedjan och positiva effekter på människors hälsa och ekonomi. Syftet med detta projekt är att skapa förutsättningar för en starkare värdekedja för vegetabiliskt protein för humankonsumtion i Östergötland. Idag finns det flera glapp i värdekedjan som skulle kunna åtgärdas genom ett tätare samarbete mellan olika aktörer. I projektet kommer värdekedjan att kartläggas genom intervjuer och insamling av statistik. Därefter kommer aktörer att ges möjlighet till gemensam analys av värdekedjan och dess glapp och slutligen kommer det att formuleras handlingsplaner för hur glappen kan överbryggas och värdekedjan stärkas.
