Achieving and maintaining a good stable climate with low ammonia levels is a major challenge for many poultry farmers. In addition to adversely affecting animal health, production and the working environment, high levels of ammonia in the stable can also lead to increased environmental impact. The purpose of this project is therefore to locate, evaluate collect and disseminate knowledge about different approaches to reduce ammonia levels in poultry farms. This will be done through knowledge acquisition by business intelligence, workshops and interview studies with farmers. Then evaluation and testing of some methods, information compilation and dissemination of information. The goal is that more farmers would find solutions to reduce the ammonia levels in their farms. In this way, the project can contribute to a more sustainable poultry production, increased profitability for farmers and reduced environmental impact.
