Horse in traffic is a qualitative case study that aims to provide knowledge about interactions between horse, horse users and modern road traffic, and which type of measures might be needed to improve road safety. Providing knowledge about typical events and situations for equestrians and horse drivers in road traffic, and how horses react in different situations can be helpful for increasing road users’ awareness about risk factors and making them behave more cautiously. The study will focus on how road traffic safety is emphasized in different horse environments. Authorities can get the basis for focusing on the safety of the horses and their riders. The findings of the study may be of importance for programming driverless vehicles. The study aims to contribute to reduction of road traffic accidents. Document studies, interviews and questionnaires delivered to people with different roles in horse environments as well as tests in restricted areas will be used in data collection.

Resistance to anthelmintic drugs is a threat to equine welfare. Like antibiotics, is restrictive use of anthelmintics necessary to retain their effectivity. Thus, targeted selective treatment, based on individual deworming, was introduced a decade ago. However, we have shown that the prevalence of, …

The purpose of this project is to define the amount of slaked lime needed for a given clay soil. We hypothesise that the amount of slaked lime needed for minimal phophorus loss is dependent on the clay content of the soil. The study will be conducted in a field with a drainage system and measuring …
