Digitization in agriculture sweeps like a tsunami over Swedish agriculture. Knowledge of its components and, above all, the profitability of investing in digitization is very low. The purpose of the project is to hold a competition in digitizing plant cultivation. The competition will be carried out in the spring of 2020. A select group of knowledgeable farmers will be invited to form teams which will be supported by advisors, machine companies, students and others . Measures implemented before and during the growing season are documented & evaluated to give indications about factors influencing profitability.
This application intends to develop knowledge before the competition by running a "pre-competition" during the spring / summer of 2019 with only one team competing against the staff of Alnarp's home farm.
Since the utilization of digital aids in crop cultivation is at a low level, there is great potential for the project to provide decision support for better profitability.
Digitalisering inom lantbruket väller fram som en tsunami över det svenska lantbruket. Kunskap om dess beståndsdelar och framförallt, lönsamheten med att investera i digitalisering, är mycket låg.
Syftet med projektet är att starta en tävling i att digitalisera växtodling. Tävlingen kommer att genomföras med start våren 2020. Till denna tävling bjuds utvalda intresserade och speciellt kunniga lantbrukare som bildar lag till vilka knyts rådgivare, maskinfirmor, studenter m.fl. Genomförda åtgärder före och under odlingssäsongen dokumenteras & utvärderas för att ge indikationer på vilka hjälpmedel som leder till lönsamhet.
Denna ansökan avser att ta fram kunskap inför tävlingen genom att köra en ”tävling” under våren/sommaren 2019 med endast ett lag som tävlar mot Alnarps egendoms ordinarie drift och att utvärdera denna.
Eftersom utnyttjandet av digitala hjälpmedel inom växtodling är på en låg nivå finns stor potential för att projektet ger beslutsunderlag för bättre lönsamhet.
